Duties: Assist under and unemployed adults develop job skills, access resources, maintain compliance with CalWORKS requirements and secure employment. Work with local businesses and partners to develop and expand local collaboration and resources.

Specific tasks include:

Comply with all requirements of the TCCN - CalWORKS contract.

Instruct monthly STEPS class.

Maintain contact with STEPS students prior to and following duration of course and report attendance to Health and Human Services CalWORKS (HHSA) Employment Training Workers (ETW).

Comply with confidentiality requirements.

Promote CalWORKs to community businesses and seek participation in the program.

Meet with clients to determine their needs and career goals.

Identify and secure appropriate placement of clients in work experience and/or community service positions.

Maintain accurate client files

Compile Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), training agreement, time cards, evaluation forms for each client and site.

Orient client and business to CalWORKS the rules and regulations.

Maintain regular phone/personal contact with HHSA, clients, and worksites.

Maintain communication with clients and business owners to insure client compliance.

Collect client time cards and evaluations every two weeks.

Track employment opportunities in a format that is user-friendly to clients.

Complete monthly reports as required by the HHSA.

Attend meetings with HHSA CalWORKS staff.

Comply with all requirements of the TCCN – Hill County Health and Wellness (Mental Health Services Act) contract.

Support Hill Country Health and Wellness case managers in the form of completing client support transactions.

Complete monthly reports as required by MHSA.

Answer phones and transfer calls - distribute messages – forward e-mails

Update and maintain the marquee sign

Order office supplies

Use fax machine and copy machine

Create documents and forms

Attend monthly IMAGE meetings, update email list and assist with agenda preparation.

Attend Intermountain Family Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings when appropriate.

Receive emergency food and shelter referrals and provide services to clients when available.

Maintain an up-to-date list of people receiving services to document frequency of contact and prevent fraud and duplication.

Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications: Empathy, good communication skills (both oral and written), ability to (teach) impart information to small groups of adults in a confident and comfortable fashion, competence with email, Word and Excel, excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, people and time management skills, ability to work well independently and with others, ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete records, capable of establishing and maintaining harmonious relationships with staff, clients, and partner agencies.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to pass a criminal background check and have a clean DMV record. Must be able to pass a drug test. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to use personal vehicle for limited business related travel. (Reimbursement for travel is paid at the County rate.)
