Trail Guide for Horseback Rides

This posting is for a position at Mountain Creek Riding Stable for a trail guide. Horse experience preferred but not necessary, as we will train. We're looking for a year-round person but are willing to hire part time depending on your availability.

If you enjoy working with animals and have good customer service skills this job may be the one for you! This is a physical job with lots of bending, lifting, twisting, and we ride every day regardless of the weather so keep that in mind.

Trail guides are responsible for the following duties:

· Feeding horses twice a day, both hay and grain

· Grooming and saddling horses

· Cleaning the stables and maintaining a clean living environment for the horses

· Riding with our customers on their rides to assist them and ensure a safe and pleasant ride

· Providing pony rides for children too small to participate in trail rides

There are some other tasks our trail guides may attend to as well:

· Treating horses with everyday medical issues/injuries that do not require veterinary care

· Working the payment system/cash register and signing people in for their ride

· Assisting with basic maintenance of the barn (fixing broken fence, yard maintenance, etc.)

After 30 days starting pay is re-assessed and may increase or stay the same, depending on performance.
