Job Title: Network Engineer Job Location: New York, NY Job Type: Contract Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the planning, design, and delivery of both network (including firewalls, switches and routers) and VoIP systems solutions.
  • Configures the following: local & wide area network routers and switches; load balancers, DNS and DHCP, remote access / VPN; Internet facing perimeter firewalls and routers; VoIP gateways for both SIP and PSTN protocols; Cisco Call Manager VoIP related systems; EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
  • Configures, installs and tests various types of VoIP equipment including voice enabled gateways, VoIP servers, paging servers/software, phones, ACD and IVR systems.
  • Collaborates in the overall implementation of cloud networking solutions.
  • Develops capacity planning models and load-balancing/redundancy solutions.
  • Assesses network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs; analyzes facility bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies.
Qualifications:
  • 7 or more years of experience as a Network Engineer with extensive experience in planning, design, delivery and support of network (including firewalls, switches and routers) and VoIP systems.
  • Must have experience migrating and/or extending on-premises networks to the cloud.
  • Must have experience in Cisco Networking and Cisco VoIP.
  • Experience configuring the following: local & wide area network routers and switches; load balancers, DNS and DHCP, remote access / VPN; Internet facing perimeter firewalls and routers; VoIP gateways for both SIP and PSTN protocols; Cisco Call Manager VoIP related systems; EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
  • VoIP experience includes configuring, installs and tests various types of VoIP equipment including voice enabled gateways, VoIP servers, paging servers/software, phones, ACD and IVR systems.
  • Experience in optimizing network performance and in developing capacity planning models and load-balancing/redundancy solutions.
  • Strong customer focus and excellence in relationship building and stakeholder management; is confident engaging with all levels of personnel including executive level management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, enthusiastic; and possess very strong organizational, task management and prioritization skills. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
