  • The material engineer's responsibilities include performing research, cost studies, CAE analysis, building prototypes, prototype functional testing, leading trials, and projects across multiple stakeholders, and providing customer support. You should be able to communicate effectively and provide effective suggestions for improvement.

What you bring:
  • 5 years' experience in engineering environments within product development for composite parts in automotive or other high-volume production.
  • A strong background with project management and effective business communication
  • A strong background with materials selection, analytical testing, and functional performance testing
  • A strong background with fiberglass or carbon fiber composites
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for cost optimization
  • Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project or on multiple projects
  • Able to take initiative to recommend projects, product improvements, or cost reductions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience

Bonus if you have:
  • Experience with resin transfer molding or 3D printing
  • Experience with CATIA
  • Additional related certifications

Important Information:

Contract: 12 months with a possibility of extension

Travel: 25% (Local and International) Most of the travel would be local however international travel required for this role at other sites in the USA, Canada, and Mexico

Overtime: Yes, including weekends as per the business requirement

Remote/on-site/Hybrid: This will be an on-site role, but the candidate will get a chance to work from home as per the business need

Experience level: 5+ Years

Education: Minimum Associates degree required

Other Important Information:
  • Would be developing composite part studies to identify cost reduction and light weighting opportunities on current vehicles
  • Candidate with materials science and composites background is Mandatory
  • Candidate should be Data driven and Detail orientated
  • Should have good Excel, MS office and computer skills
  • Candidates eligible to travel overseas will only be considered for this position
