Job#: 1284544 Job Description: Apex Systems has an immediate direct-hire opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer-Metallurgist near Evansville, IN. The Senior Quality Engineer-Metallurgist is responsible for designing material routings and establishing process controls in order to meet customer requirements and continually improve performance. Additionally, this position will engage in problem solving activities to improve mechanical properties and overall product quality to maximize profit. - Ensuring the best processes to meet and improve material conformance to customer specifications
- Investigates sources and root causes of nonconforming materials; initiates containment actions for potential reject material
- Analyzes process and result variables in order to reduce product rejections, metallurgical failures, define trending / variation, & develop corrective actions to improve performance
- Analyzes data using statistical analysis, statistical process and quality control
- Coordinate & design trial set up for new customer orders
- Implements procedural and/or standard changes that will result in better performance
- Gain full understanding of the various processes within the plant
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- A Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Materials, Ceramic, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem solving and leadership abilities
- Solid computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications:- Related metallurgy experience preferred
- Minitab, JMP
