Reports to the Manager - CASS & SMS, is the primary point of contact for collection, analysis, measuring and reporting of various data pertaining to safety and compliance performance in TechOps Quality Assurance. Assists in administration of safety assurance programs and safety risk management activities to support compliance with Title 14 CFR 121.373 Continuous Analysis Surveillance System (CASS) and Title 14 CFR Part 5 Safety Management System (SMS). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Compiles standards assurance and compliance investigation data that supports the performance measure of TechOps continuous airworthiness maintenance program (CAMP)
  • Apply analytical skills and technical abilities to provide periodic detailed analysis and reports that identify performance trends in quality, compliance and safety metrics for all TechOps business units and Essential Maintenance Providers
  • Facilitates CASS Board initiatives and continuous improvement activities, including tracking status of corrective actions and long-term performance trends
  • May provide support to TechOps business units with the application and execution of safety risk management (SRM) in support of our safety management system (SMS).
  • Compiles safety risk management, risk mitigation and risk acceptance data from the execution of TechOps SMS
  • Monitors periodic inputs of CASS by observing and collecting pertinent information from various TechOps performance meetings, including but not limited to Daily Ops Calls, Operational Difficulty Items (ODI), Fleet Reliability Meetings, Monthly Performance Reviews (MPR), CASS Board, ZTI Board, Safety Round Table (SRT)
  • Assists in the ongoing development of real-time CASS Dashboards for Quality Assurance and TechOps business units
  • Provides end-user support and liaison with third party provider of our quality and compliance system Vistair
  • Develops and distributes periodic safety and compliance reports, such as monthly CASS Board (CAB), Zero Tolerance Items (ZTI), Business Unit Compliance Score Cards, Safety Round Table (SRT)
  • Maintain data files pertinent to preparation of performance quality and compliance metrics and score cards
  • Primary resource for ad hoc reporting requirements and special requests of quality assurance data
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager, CASS & SMS.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, mathematics, computer science, aviation technology preferred
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience in airline technical operations, FAA AMT license preferred
  • Working knowledge of data gathering and analytical software, i.e., SQL, VB, SAS, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, MS Visio.
  • Deliver results against demanding timelines
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
  • Possession of both A&P license and Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or aviation technology
  • Experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance or reliability engineering to include data analysis/data modeling/data visualization
