The selected candidate will perform duties including; removal, installation and modifications to major and minor equipment and cables, may be required to ensure connectivity and functionality of equipment, use diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and identifying deficiencies, install and troubleshoot configurations of telecommunications hardware and software ensuring the desired performance of telecommunications equipment, use technical knowledge to provide assistance and engineering solutions involving different modes of information transfer such as wireless telephony services, internet and broadband technologies. Selected candidate will be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around or out of the country when not assigned to a local task. Per diem available based on location when on travel, travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company. This position is contingent upon award/fundingEssential Job ResponsibilitiesInstalls, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel. Applies understanding of production and processes to assignments. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May assist in the development and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports. Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.Minimum Qualifications

Must have experience with data cable installation and terminations.

Must have and be able to maintain and active DOD Secret Clearance or higher.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DBIDS/CAC badge for base access/credentials.

Must be a US Citizen

Must have a valid US passport. Prefer the expiration date to be 2022 or later.

HS education or Trade School + 2 years of related experience.

Prefer technical/professional certifications.

Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.

Preferred Requirements

Prefer a candidate with a thorough understanding of networks such as LAN and WAN

Prefer candidate is familiar with Navy Shore Installations and Communications Centers.

Prefer candidate has experience with Fiber Optic Cable installation and terminations.

NAVSEA STD 009-073 Multi-pin Copper Certification is a plus.

NAVSEA STD 009-123 Fiber Optic certification is a plus.

Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
