About this role:The Sr. Control Management Specialist is part of the Business Risk and Control Team, supporting the Operational Risk group, reporting to the Control Management Sr. Manager. The Business Risk and Control team is responsible for partnering with the relevant business group to identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures associated with their activities and operations. The Sr. Control Management Specialist is responsible for monitoring, measuring, evaluating, and reporting on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group and enterprise function. The Sr. Control Management Specialist consults and provides guidance to business groups on the development, implementation, and monitoring of moderately complex business-specific programs to identify, assess, and mitigate risk, consults and provides support in the interpretation of policy, guidelines, and governance programs as the front line liaison to the Independent Risk Management area for moderate to high risk and complexity enterprise risk programs and provides risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements.In this role, you will:Develop and maintain partnerships with business process owners by consulting and providing expertise in control design to effectively mitigate risks, including the design of means of measurement

Advise aligned group on Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA)/Integrated Process Risk and Control (IPRC), Business Process Management (BPM), and other programs

Engage in the development and implementation of new controls, action plans, and root cause analysis

Support the evaluation and design of appropriate metrics to inform and monitor the health of the operational risk environment

Identify gaps and areas of improvement in existing processes and recommend improvements

Support a strong risk management culture through the implementation of key risk management programs into the standard operating framework of the business

Interface with Audit, Legal, and internal partners as needed

Required Qualifications, US:4+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:Experience in supporting one or more areas of risk including, Operational Risk, Model Risk and Compliance for BCL roles aligned to these groups within Corporate Risk.

A thorough understanding of enterprise risk management framework including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.

Working knowledge/experience in Wells Fargo Issue Management

Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) experience

Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, to include virtual, matrixed leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships

Technical understanding of Corporate Risk operations, processes, and responsibilities.

Proven leadership and project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end-to-end risk management solutions and controls aligned with group's processes.

Deep understanding of risk framework, corporate/business policies, and programs to translate into plans for the business, function and/or risk type.

Ability to evaluate impacts based on changes in laws/regulations and develop company response.

Knowledge and understanding of operational risk management in the financial services industry.

Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation plans
