Mitigation Technician (Fairbanks Location)

Alaskan owned Construction/Restoration company that has been serving Alaska for 50 years, has immediate openings for Fairbanks-area based Mitigation Technicians.

WHAT WE DO

We are a construction/restoration company that restores homes & commercial properties after disasters such as fire, wind, earthquake, and water/mold damage. We also do home improvements, residential & commercial remodels, additions, and many other services. We occasionally work in rural locations in Alaska as needed.

We offer our clients emergency services 24 hours per day. Our employees work on a rotation schedule for after-hours but could be called in when not on call for large-scale emergencies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

IICRC certification preferred, but not required

Must be hardworking, honest, dependable, and neat in appearance.

Ability to work well as a team as well as independently.

Must be safety focused. We provide all safety equipment, and all employees are required to use it.

Current driver license with no more than 3 driving infractions in the last 3 years.

Reliable, insured transportation at your disposal. Due to on-call rotation, public transportation will not suffice.

Willingness to cross-train with the cleaning and construction departments.

Ability to lift & move 75+ pounds, multiple times per day.

Must pass post-offer drug screening (heroin, amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine)

Must pass post-offer background screening. Due to insurance contract requirements, candidates with felony convictions will not be considered. Any other convictions will need to be discussed with Human Resource Director for contract compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform disaster response, emergency mitigation, water extraction, structural drying, and demolition to include removal of drywall, flooring, insulation, etc., following IICRC standards.

Set up drying equipment at the work site, ensuring proper set up and removal.

Moving of contents / furniture to assess mitigation areas.

Perform moisture mapping and loss documentation.

Participate in our 24-hour on call rotation, responding to emergency losses after hours and on weekends, as dictated by the on-call schedule. Overtime for this position is required, but is not guaranteed.

Drive company vehicles, including water trucks and trailers (does not require CDL)
