Lab Assistant

SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to provide laboratory processing of client orders, the majority of which will involve manual weighing and liquid handling of compounds. The candidate for this role will be expected to have further due diligence and increased understanding of workflows, SOPs, etc. The position requires a highly motivated individual, able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the successful fulfillment of orders.

The compounds may be potentially hazardous, safety glasses, lab coats and gloves will be required while working. Specific site training, automation, computers, and any other material in support of compound management activities will be provided.

Individual may be required to use an air purifying respirator, at some future date. If implemented, individual will need to pass a health respirator physical and remove any interfering facial hair.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Tare weighing of vials and other containers and bar-coding of disposables

Liquid handling of compounds

Powder weighing of compounds

Data handling, inventory tracking, accurate record keeping and following established Standard Operating Procedures for assigned tasks

Ensure quality control and safety standards adherence

QUALIFICATIONS

Chemical Laboratory experience preferred

Use of balances, fume hoods, and basic chemical handling procedures

Good oral and written communication

Follow oral and written protocols and instructions

Keep good records, works safely and to schedule

Education and Experience:

High School diploma, BS or equivalent with scientific discipline

1-2 years’ experience preferred
