Celebrating its 60th year, Redeemer Lutheran Preschool is seeking a teacher to inspire children to discover the wonder of learning through play and nature-based exploration through the Creative Curriculum. If you are interested in supporting our educational mission in a culturally inclusive learning environment, we would love to speak with you! General Duties and Responsibilities:

- Organizes and provides the school-wide, developmentally appropriate early childhood program (Creative Curriculum) in the classroom.

- Prepares an inviting, clean and safe classroom environment to support children where they learn and practice appropriate individual and group behavior.

- Maintains professional, open communication with staff and parents/families.

- Completes required written documentation in a timely manner.

- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as needed, possibly beyond regular work schedule.

Requirements/Qualifications:

- Hold a bachelor’s degree preferably in an early childhood related field.

- Background, training and/or classes in early childhood education or experience teaching in a preschool environment.

- Knowledgeable about early childhood development and programs both theory and practice.

- Basic knowledge of Christian teachings and a willingness to implement Preschool’s stated purpose.

- Physical and mental ability to work with young children in a loving and caring way.

- Knowledgeable of applicable health and safety procedures.

- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other staff members and families.

- Demonstrates professionalism, responsibility, and reliability.

- Successful background checks and health standards as required by Fairfax County or Commonwealth of Virginia.

- Fluent English in both oral and written communication.

- Meets annual Continuing Education requirements.

- Understands and complies with the policies and procedures of the Church.

- Completes and maintains First Aid, CPR and Medication Administration Training certifications.
