Located in the Bloomington, Minnesota area, this long-term contract / temporary position is an engaging, multi-faceted opportunity where hard work is rewarded. The duties of Staff Accountant include fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of monthly and year-end closings. This position spends a fair amount of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You'll also be involved in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.ResponsibilitiesSupport fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner Requirements - ERP system experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Great attention to detail
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficiency in Bank Account Reconciliation
Knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Account reconciliation experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
