In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Based in Miami Beach, Florida, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity.What you get to do every single dayFollowing progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules
Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows
Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
Filing documents to maintain historical records
Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions
Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections
Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time Requirements - Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
5+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field
Prior experience with Excel and Peachtree
Practical knowledge of bank reconciliations
Well-founded grasp of Accounts Payable (AP)
Experience with Bookkeeping Functions
Proven knowledge of Basic Bookkeeping
Deep understanding of navigating basic office equipment and protocols
Bookkeeping experience preferred
General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Quality experience with Monthly Bank Reconciliation
Comprehensive knowledge of Full Charge Bookkeeping
Knowledge of QuickBooks
Previous experience with payroll preferred
Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures
A thorough knowledge of accrual and cash basis of accounting
High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
