Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description There is a part-time Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk job opening for someone who is self-starting and detail-oriented. This is a short-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Joliet, Illinois area. Robert Half is partnering with a growing Industrial company who is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk to join the accounting team. The Accounts Receivable Clerk's duties will be to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This is a great match for a candidate looking for career growth potential, and who is capable of processing 200+ invoices per week.ResponsibilitiesContact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in different ledgers

Perform a variety of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks

Test documents and codes

Process payments and compile segments of annual reports and monthly closings in compliance with GAAP

Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization

Provide information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders

Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers

Requirements - Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

Billing experience desired

ERP system experience

AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
