Our Client is looking to expand this team with likeminded individuals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment contributing to novel solutions, while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, attention to detail, and a willingness to expand their technical understanding.As RCS Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and development of Reaction Control Thrusters and related fluid systems required for the attitude control of the Dauntless Small-Sat Launch Vehicle. In this role you will develop unique technical solutions to develop the specialized propulsion technologies required to deliver customer’s payloads to their specified orbits; safely, efficiently, and sustainably. While in this role you will work with a wide team of creative individuals to develop the highest performance and reliability system while working to lower complexity and cost.Required Security ClearanceNone (ITAR Eligible)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform system, subsystem, and component design characterization and optimization

Conduct detailed lifecycle analysis of Reaction Control Thrusters and related fluid components

Develop and maintain CAD models, assemblies, and drawings

Develop, support, and write documentation and procedures for production, manufacturing, and assembly of propulsion hardware

Perform RCS component design, fabrication, assembly, and testing

Identification, communication, and mitigation of technical, schedule, and cost risks

Develop assembly and testing procedures for propulsion systems and components

Train technicians on test, fabrication, safety procedures, and best practices

Conduct detailed analysis of hybrid rocket engine systems and individual components and provide recommendations for correction or improvement

Conduct configuration design studies and development of prototype Reaction Control Systems

Work with GNC to develop models of propulsion systems during vehicle accent through orbital insertion

Identify, develop, and implement improvements to fabrication and testing capabilities to meet vehicle development timelines while reducing cost

Enabling rapid technology innovation by supporting the development of algorithmic system design software

QualificationsBS. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, or similar engineering disciplines

3+ years of propulsion or fluid system design and component manufacturing

Experience with CAD to design parts and assemblies

Experience with metal additive manufacturing and post processing methods
