Req Number 60985Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDevelops and maintains strong relationships with the voluntary physicians of the health system. Develops goals and identifies initiatives related to physician partnerships, in alignment with the mission and vision of the health system.Job ResponsibilityProvides strategic advice and guidance to the Physician Relationship Management function. Develops and maintains strong relationships with the voluntary physicians of the health system; works to cultivate effective communication and implements strategies to enhance lines of communication with the medical staff and health system. Maintains ongoing interaction through regular meetings with physicians and Medical Staff Society Officers to understand needs around effectiveness, productivity and efficiencies.

Establishes strong, collaborative working relationships with voluntary physicians; identifies and helps to establish the components necessary for attraction and retention of voluntary physicians. Contributes to the retention of voluntary physicians through continued communication and relationship building. Sets goals and objectives and contributes to the development of the health system strategic plan as it relates to physician partnerships with voluntary physicians.

Encourages and helps to coordinate the involvement of voluntary physicians in activities within the health system. Promotes mutual relationships with physicians, hospital administrators and department heads. Understands intricate dynamics of full-time and voluntary physician relationships. Develops goals and identifies initiatives related to physician partnerships, in alignment with the mission and vision of the health system.

Works closely with and takes direction from the leadership to ensure goals are met. Develops metrics and coordinates efforts to gather information to ensure success. Continually monitors and evaluates programs/initiatives and recommends methods for improvement and works collaboratively with clinical and administrative leadership to maximize utilization of current facilities and resources.

Provides information to health system senior leadership; reports to committees/forums. Contributes to the ongoing success and transformation of healthcare delivery at the health system. Promotes the culture and identity of the health system. Develops and oversees initiatives to help promote the culture and identity of the health system; participates in initiatives and committee work involved in marketing health system services to the physicians.

Assists in developing marketing strategies, promotions and community events working with the Public Relations and Marketing Departments. Ensures marketing strategies holds a balanced interest between the full-time and voluntary physicians; maintains strong knowledge of the local healthcare market and an understanding of growth opportunities to provide services to the community. Works with other departments as necessary.

Works with physicians to understand needs and facilitate referral of patients to the health system; responsible for building relationships with referring physicians and potential referral sources; coordinates and implements strategies and programs involving voluntary physicians that result in improved relations and increased referrals.

Performs outreach and acts as a liaison with physicians and the health system; keeps abreast of competitive activity of local physicians and hospitals; works to alter the admission/referral patterns of 'splitters' to increase use of system facilities; determines needs of referring primary care physicians and specialists; communicates referring physicians needs to the health system senior leaders; works with administrators and faculty members to resolve issues.

Develops standards/goals and implements initiatives to promote service excellence; maintains an understanding of physician satisfaction levels; administers satisfaction surveys to obtain physician feedback; reports findings to senior leadership; develops and supports initiatives for service excellence; identifies service standards and ensures standards are met.

Job QualificationBachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

10+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
