The Production Manager role is responsible for all aspects of their departments processes and procedures. They will also serve as a leader of their team. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities Establishes and enforces work procedures to meet production and output requirements Coaches and develops hourly team members to ensure manufacturing goals are met Leads in problem solving activities regarding safety, quality, cost and process improvement Evaluates team performance and provides clear expectations and guidance to team Tracks maintenance of tools and equipment and arranges quick repairs as needed to avoid downtime Conducts quarterly performance reviews and development action plans for all direct reports Participate in daily meetings with other production managers to ensure department is meeting requirements of surrounding departments Identifies and executes against new ways to improve processes, materials, and tools using appropriate continuous improvement and lean strategies Creation and execution against departmental budget Executes against complex projects which may include capital expenditures Other duties as assigned Education and Experience Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree preferred 3-5 years work experience with processes, equipment, parts, and machinery required 3-5 years in a leadership role required Qualifications Experience leading ten or more people that includes hiring, conducting disciplinary reviews, and coaching employees. Demonstrated experience in developing talent within department as well as being a mentor for lead positions Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and analytical skills Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to effectively work with ERP system, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software. Working Conditions Able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8+ hours per day. Able and willing to work with common chemicals and materials used in the paint prep and powder coating process. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position works primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with dust and moderate to high noise level.
