(Temporary 3-6 Months) Public Works Electricians (Fresno)

Sunworks United Inc. is looking for (Temporary) Certified Electricians for our Public Works Department in the following locations:

San Luis Obispo area

Sonoma/Petaluma area

Fresno County

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels and circuits.

Testing electrical systems of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

Directing or training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment or fixtures.

Installing power supply wiring and conduit such as: EMT, O-CAL, Rigid conduit, MC cable, strut, cable trays etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

7+ years’ experience in the commercial / residential electrical field

Current California Certified Electrician or ET card

A working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), OSHA Safety Standards, local and utility jurisdiction requirements

Must have knowledge in conduit bending, wire pulling, and terminating electrical panel

Knows and understands the importance of job site safety

Ability to understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other job specific requirements

High standard of integrity and professionalism

Ability to work well with team members and competently delegate work among crew as needed

Ability to travel and work long distances, including overnight travel

Experience working with hand tools, power tools and electronic test equipment.

Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background/DMV investigation and drug screen

Current, valid Driver’s License and proof if insurance is required

OR, any combination of academic education and professional training and development, along with applied work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work overhead, navigate up and down ladders and lift 50+ pounds.

Must have full range or mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions and

Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
