The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Information Technology Division is recruiting for an Infrastructure Supervisor – Systems Administrator – Senior/Specialist. This position serves as the agency’s highest level technical expert and authority for Enterprise Infrastructure management and plays a key role in guiding the direction and development of the DNR’s IT Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture. As a work unit supervisor, this position leads the effort to plan, coordinate, and implement the many projects either currently underway or on the horizon. This position is in the Information Technology Division (ITD) of the agency and reports to the ITD Assistant Division Manager (ADM) of the IT Operations and Support Team. This position supervises the Infrastructure Operations work unit.

Please Note: This position has the flexibility to work remotely part-time, however the duty station is in Olympia, Washington and the successful candidate must agree to travel to the office for key scheduled meetings or as operational needs dictate. Details of teleworking considerations will be addressed during the interview process.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership in full systems life cycle management to support the Enterprise environment.
  • Leads activities and directs employees of the Infrastructure Operations team.
  • Consults with customers on system design and implementation.
  • Provides leadership and direction to project teams.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, plus 5 years’ experience. May substitute a year of experience for each year of education
  • Five years of current information technology support either as a technician or supervisor supporting a Computing Environment of 1000 or more users across a multi-server platform.
  • Five years’ recent experience developing agency-wide information technology system architecture in support of Enterprise Infrastructure Operations management.
  • Five (5) years Windows Server Administration in an enterprise environment at an expert (master) level. Must have had experience installation, configuration and maintaining Windows server systems to include:
    • Imaging of windows server for deployment
    • Troubleshooting using system logs and tools
    • NTFS permission inheritance and settings
    • TCP/IP networking in windows systems
  • Registry system setting and editing
  • Setting standards, processes and procedures
  • A minimum of 5 years’ recent experience providing leadership and expert consultation for projects and enterprise systems that carry out organization-wide information technology functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team of technology professionals to develop and achieve department and project goals.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in all systems implementation and life cycle stages
