Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Ground Development and Mission Operations Division, is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer Support Analyst (level 4) to join our team located Colorado Springs, CO. Our team builds the software tools and services for the world's highest performing satellite/ground systems for USG and Commercial customers. We work with space customers in the development of the next-generation ground systems for all types of space missions including communication, precision timing and navigation, remote sensing, space control and exploration.Position Overview:The Lead Systems Engineer Support Analyst will be a part of a high-performing program team that is engaged in providing support to our SBSS program. The SBSS program provides critical Space Domain Awareness (SDA) data to our US Space Force war fighters. This position will be responsible for ground system test and evaluation, mission simulator operations, vehicle simulator operations, and general systems engineering support. This role helps validate and verify software updates to the operational ground system used to execute the SBSS mission. This position reports directly to the Boeing SBSS program Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) lead and is part of a small high-performing team. This opportunity offers a collaborative mentoring environment where you have the opportunity to learn from others and be a mentor to junior engineers. Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop operations test procedures to support satellite, system, and operational testing.
  • Manage Discrepancy Reports (DR).
  • Draft test reports.
  • Develop crew training materials, documents and lesson plans.
  • Provide schedule requirements and updates to the Master Program Schedule for test.
  • Coordinate the resolution of action items from test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
  • Provide operations support for satellite mission operations.
  • Perform detailed technical document reviews.
  • Use an enthusiastic, hands-on approach to work.
  • Research, analyzes, and compiles complex technical data for company products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle.
  • Apply complex systems engineering processes, methodologies and tools to the design of system of systems, systems and new product development.
  • Derive and develop complex architectures, functional requirements, refinements and product designs.
  • Assist in the integration of technical, cost, value, risks and specialty engineering considerations into definition of the product. Interfaces with other members of the project or program teams, management, sales and marketing staff, customers and suppliers to meet group, organization and company objectives.
  • Perform technical planning and control; maintains and improves processes and software tools. Oversees training, leads and mentors others.
  • Works under minimal direction.
Work Authorization:This position requires an active/current Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartment Information (TS/SCI) security clearance and program access (post-start). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
  • 5 years or more of experience with satellite operations.
  • 5 years of more of experience with Department of Defense Programs.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
  • 2 years or more experience with procedure execution, development or sustainment.
  • Experience with software systems test
  • Experience with general systems engineering execution
Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
