Sr. Manager, Data Science serves as a key technology leader with strategic responsibility for enabling technologies utilized to ensure the organization meets its business goals. Role is the key IT decision maker for: Enabling advanced analytics in generation space. Technology enablement for Power Optimization Center next generation.
Key Accountabilities•Work with various generation stakeholders to identify and convert business problems into analytics solutions.•Manage & support generation analytics business capabilities along with platform design and end to end process.•Ensure production ready code is developed, shipped and scaled. Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure correct ML/Dev Ops workflows.•Manage multi-disciplinary teams of data scientists, engineers, software engineers, designers to ensure success of delivery.•Day-to-day vendor management of relevant outsource providers & 3rd parties.•Project management & ownership of small to large sized IT projects as required.•Lead thinking on documentation, risk management for data sources, source code.•Able to explain details of complex concepts to business stakeholders in a simple way.•Develop and maintain a deep understanding of value drivers for Vistra corporate business towers in order to inspire and achieve innovative value creation strategies.•Creation through partnership with the business of the vision and roadmap for the Vistra Generation team Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements •12+ years of technology experience with 7+ years of experience in applied data science methods.•Experienced gained through college degree programs and or certifications in MIS, Computer Science or related field in operations research, data science , machine learning from an accredited college/university (or equivalent experience).•Proven ability to manage organizational change projects affecting a wide user base and large corporate systems• 3-5 years of managing data science or machine learning teams.•Hands on ability in formulating roadmap and execution.•Familiarity of technology trends and ability to translate that to solve business problems.Key Metrics•System availability for applications under role’s leadership.•Measuring SLAs and KPI for third party vendors providing application maintenance and development.•Financial accountability for the software maintenance and licensing for applications under role’s leadership.•Execution to the technology roadmap and strategies roadmap definition and execution of visionVacancy expired!
