Product Engineer (sheetmetal/casting/structural analysis/series data) JD-GC

Period: 36 Months (Probability to extend) Shift: Hours of work flexible M-F 8-4:30 (OT as needed) Duties:

• Proficient user of Altair Hypermesh pre-processor, Hyperview post-processor, and ABAQUS FEA solver
• Build structural analysis models of harvesting components and systems using finite element analysis (FEA) modeling tools
• Conduct stress and fatigue analysis of crop harvesting equipment subject to vehicle dynamic and crop processing loads
• Work closely with global design teams to resolve structural and durability issues and enable simulation guided design early in the PDP process
• Write reports summarizing analysis methods used, results, and design recommendations

• Familiarity with combine harvesters or other off-highway equipment
• Experience in sheetmetal and/or casting design and structural analysis
• MS degree in engineering, with coursework in engineering mechanics, finite element methods, and fatigue theory (BS degree in engineering would of course be a requirement)
• Experience with times series data analysis using Glyphworks or related tools
• Understanding of stress life and strain life fatigue theory
• Experience in fatigue life prediction
