A CA is accountable for instruction and requests given by the LCC, and partners with the building staff to ensure the safety and security of all residents. CAs will facilitate programs and conversations that focus on personal growth and social, academic, health and wellness development.Responsibilities:

Delivering Attend and participate in mandatory fall and spring staff training and other professional development sessions.

Attend and participate in mandatory one-on-one, weekly building staff meetings and monthly staff meetings.

Assist in the supervision/oversight of the residence hall, responding to all requests and emergencies.

Serve on-call for weekday and weekend duty (Monday through Sunday).

Assist with the fall, winter break and spring openings and closings (i.e., CAs are expected to be on campus after buildings close for breaks/end of term and prior to building openings at the beginning of the terms)

The timely reporting of all incidents and student concerns to a direct or indirect supervisor.

Be accessible and visible to the residents throughout the day and evenings.

Hold office hours at designated external/internal locations between the hours of 8am-5pm

Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.

Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA

No prior experience necessary

For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Enrolled in 12 or more credit hours

Upperclassman (rising-Sophomore, rising-Junior, or rising-Senior) at time of application

Enrolled as a full-time student at PVAMU for at least two semesters or transferred into the university as a full-time college student (duel credit high school programs cannot be substituted for semesters on-campus or full-time college student status)

Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

Be in good academic, student code of conduct, and housing standing

Be able to work both fall and spring semester, and prior to the start of the semester and interim periods

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

General knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Google docs, sheets and forms

Leadership

Written & verbal communication

Multi-tasking

Organization

Ability to maintain confidentiality
