SummaryAs a Supervisory Program Analyst, you will serve as the first level supervisor VBA's newly established Records Research Center (RRC) team. The RRC research team members are accountable for the day-to-day administration of activities related to the formulation, development, recommendation, promulgation, and implementation of military records research for the purpose of reconstructing activities and events of units and individuals who participated in hazardous and dangerous operations.ResponsibilitiesSupervisor accountable for the day-to-day administration of activities related to the formulation, development, recommendation, promulgation, and implementation of military records research for the purpose of reconstructing activities and events of units and individuals who participated in hazardous and dangerous operations. Advises the Program Manager (Records Officer) and Compensation Service leaders on the development of VBA level processes related to records research and the delivery of benefits and services. Directs the planning and execution of special management and case control studies to identify Veterans exposed to Agent Orange, other herbicides, chemicals, smoke fumes, or other substances. Oversees the records research center team, ensuring Veteran inquiries are effectively and efficiently responded to. Provides leadership for the development of records research strategic planning, evaluation, and execution. Works collaboratively with other Federal agencies and Veteran Service Organizations for the purpose of strategic planning. Supervises subordinate staff providing direction, performance counseling and evaluation, mentoring, and all other supervisory tasks.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsSpecialized Experience:To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: The applicant must document knowledge of a complex field of laws, regulations and Federal legislation pertaining to the full range of veterans benefits and a comprehensive and thorough knowledge of state, federal and local benefit programs in order to be able to explain them, both orally and in writing, to individuals of all educational backgrounds. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
