Entry Level Accountant

DescriptionWe are currently working with a reputable client located in Los Angeles, CA (DTLA) and they are currently seeking an entry level Accountant. The Accounting Clerk will primarily be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This dynamic team environment offers you a great work space/office, challenging responsibilities, and a hands-on experience that will lead to career advancement.Perform day-to-day accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors as an Accounting Clerk at Accountemps. This is a long-term temporary position based in the Los Angeles, California area.What you get to do every day

Assist Accounts Receivable: help with collection of past due balance, process daily invoices/credit, and apply cash receipt

Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a wide range of sources

Remedy discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

Assist Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

Publish financial information to journals and ledgers

Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

Less than one year of experience preferred

Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required

AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

Accurate, swift, data entry abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft
