DescriptionRobert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a strong consultant to develop and lead the Inventory Management function at our family owned retail business in the South Bay on a 3-4 month engagement.The Inventory Manager should be a strong leader who can oversee and direct the organization's inventory accounting and controls. This will include monitoring counts and reconciliation and reporting of transactional information at all Company locations.Responsibilities Executes daily inventory analysis; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems. Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers. Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors. Communicates with Purchasing Department as needed regarding new items, changes of location, counts, etc. Ensures milestones and goals are met. Ensures adherence to approved budget. Oversees and assists with general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse. May travel to store locations within and out of state. Performs additional related duties as assigned.Additional Duties: Physical Inventories: Complete scheduling, conducting, and review of physical inventories. Provide analysis of count results and resolve issues. Reconciliations: Reconcile store receipts, PO transactions, in-transits and adjustments, pending PDT transactions, DNS vs Negative on hands, invalid carton scans, aged in -transit Reporting: Prepare various inventory movement reports as needed. Other ad-hoc analysis. Support: Support the store, DC, buying, allocations, new store set up and operations team as needed. Systems: Database maintenance related to stores and inventory in JDA systems.RequirementsRequired Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Thorough understanding of inventory policies and procedures.Education and Experience: At least five years of experience in related area required. At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
