Technical and Business Intelligence Architect.

DURATION: 3 years

LOCATION: Onsite in West Sacramento, CA The Technical and Business Intelligence Architect (Tech & BI Architect) shall have solid and extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse (BI&DW) tools, standards, processes, framework, and architectures in order to work with the Technical Team to implement enterprise BI and DW solution.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience with full life cycle of Data Warehouse technical design and development including logical and physical data modeling, mapping data elements from various data sources and loading Data Warehouse objects including dimensions, hierarchies, fact tables, and aggregates, building the Reporting Metadata layer, as well as building the reports.
  • At least 5 years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in architecture design and implementation of business intelligence and predictive analytics on cloud-based Data Warehouses.
  • At least 5 years of experience in translating business requirements into data requests, reports, and dashboards.
  • At least 5 years of experience in working closely with business areas to identify business needs and analytics opportunities.
  • At least 3 years of using DevOps tool chains and processes.
  • 10 years of experience of data warehousing like: SQL Server, Snowflake, and/or AWS Redshift, desired.
  • 3 years of experience of using ETL tools like: FiveTran, Informatica, AWS Glue, Talend, desired.
  • 3 years of experience of Microsoft Power BI or Tableau, desired.
  • Experience of developing a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud, desired.
  • Experience of developing solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services, desired.
  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certifications, desired.

Day-to-Day Tasks
  • Provide expert guidance on Business Intelligence (BI) skills and technologies. Develop scalable and maintainable BI applications to meet business objectives.
  • Define BI standards, guidelines, and best practices for business groups and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with BI Developers, Data Architect, and Business Analysts for successful development of BI
  • reporting and analysis solutions. Work with business groups and technical teams to develop and maintain data warehouse platform for BI reporting.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes.
  • Guide and identify activities from the system, business intelligence, and data architecture perspective, which have technical impacts/dependencies, among Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), contractors, business partners and stakeholders to ensure on-time and with quality completion of solution development/implementation per design specification and project requirements/objectives.
  • Identify, log, track, and update technical risks and issues throughout BI and DW implementation.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for BI&DW Data Platform end-to-end architecture, including Snowflake, AWS and other major cloud service providers from networking, provisioning, logging, tracking, and management.
  • Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks.
  • Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
  • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners.
  • Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk.
  • Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations.
  • Discover, analyze, document and communicate technical risks and architectural impacts.
  • Provide written weekly and/or monthly reports detailing various technical findings that may impact schedules, resources, and activities, etc.
