Work Shift: 2ND SHIFT (United States of America)Summary: The Medical Services Clerk performs a variety of clerical tasks in support of the Nursing Department including: entering incoming Worker s Compensation first reports of injury and obtaining claim numbers; submitting Worker s Comp insurance claim packets to company s Worker s Comp Adjuster; distributing mail related to workers compensation claims; maintaining OSHA Logs and employee medical files; making appointments for outside medical visits and requesting medical records; answering phones and taking messages; assisting with health promotions and educational projects analyzing medical bills supporting documentation and claim dairies assigning diagnosis codes ensuring that invoices are correct and ready for adjuster to process; occasional transportation of team members to medical appointments; creating letters and other data bases for medical services; translating for company Dr. and other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: Clerical work experience required. Knowledge of OSHA and Worker s Compensation standards preferred. Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills. Computer Skills: Immediate computer skills Word Excel and the ability to run reports as required. Specific Job Skills: Verbal and written Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred. Good recordkeeping skills required. The ability to work overtime and weekends as needed. The ability to meet CPR certification standards. Additional position information: The nature of this work may involve exposure to Blood borne Pathogens other infectious illnesses and on occasion hazardous materials.
