Our team supports all of Georgeson's global market teams to continuously deliver new technology for innovation and product growth. A role you will love As a Senior Developer you will develop high quality, secure, stable and reliable software in close collaboration with other members in an Agile development team. In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the developer community, promote innovation and share knowledge of industry best practices.

Other key responsibilities include:
  • Write high quality, clean code which adheres to internal architectural, quality and security standards.
  • Adhere to our branching, release and versioning strategy to optimise the team's ability to respond to change and frequently deliver high quality, working software.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, DBA and support teams to aid smooth transition to Production Support and eliminate deployment issues.
  • Apply best practices and contribute to the development of enhanced/innovative working.
  • Work closely with the software team and analysts: Exchange ideas, propose solutions to new problems, improve solutions of old problems.
  • Motivate others and lead with optimism when faced with tough challenges and deadlines.
  • Ability to challenge, teach and help others with their technical learning (Mentoring).
  • Contribution to the wider technical community through knowledge sharing (Blog, Lightning Talks, Demos).

You'll also need:
  • At least 5 years of experience developing large scale software projects.
  • Experience working in agile environment using iterative release management methodologies.
  • Work experience in the financial sector is a significant advantage, particularly in the proxy/TA area.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of Microsoft technologies: ASP.NET MVC, C# Programming language, Azure, Unit tests, MS SQL Server and Power BI reporting.
  • Experience with third party integrations using web APIs and web services in .NET.
  • Experience developing console applications to process large data feeds in XML/Excel/flat file formats.
  • Working experience in all layers of application development: front end, middle layer and database.
  • Strong experience in client-side languages such as Javascript, JQuery, Angular
  • Experience in modern reporting tools that work well with web applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with business analysts and regional business owners in building technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with other developers in the team to provide architectural guidance on new projects using the right technologies.
  • Ability to research and learn emerging technologies to provide recommendations to improve existing software.
