The Financial Project Coordinator will work with the IBS administrative team and provide support and assistance to Principal Investigators (PIs), Senior Program Manager, and research teams. With guidance from the Director of the Problem Behavior Program, they perform functions vital to research administration in compliance with all applicable regulations; for pre and post-grant projects; for reviewing and/or preparing a variety of transactions; for providing in-depth information or performing research on questions related to project budget compliance and for advising Principal Investigators on project budget issues as a Research Institute. Since its establishment in 1957, it has provided a setting for interdisciplinary collaborative research on problems of societal concern. Three programs have centers that specialize in research topics consistent with the broader goals of the Program. Computing and Research Services provides computing and information technology services for IBS research activities.What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Support PIs and administration in the submission and management of grants, including preparation of pre-award grant applications, developing budgets, and other requests for funding.

Develop and assist with the management of internal budgets for research projects.

Review spending trends and reconcile expenses. Monitor projects personnel costs, operating expenses, and travel.

Track project start and end dates and request extensions as necessary.

Allocate funding distribution for project employees against various projects and prepare and create PETs as needed. Recommend and prepare journal entry preparations and submissions.

Independently research and resolve fiscal related issues by data mining of financial systems.

Interact with CU campus departments such as OCG, SPA, and PSC.

Process Purchase Requests, Scopes of Work, Payment Vouchers, Vendor Requests, and Travel Reimbursements for research personnel.

Update websites, set-up and maintain domains, web hosting, and credit card payment system.

Coordinate training initiatives including event planning and registration for participants and organizations. Review client feedback surveys to research. Confirm reservations and ensure the necessary equipment is available.

Communicate with domestic and international consulting groups.

What You Should KnowVisa sponsorship is not available for this position. What We Can OfferOur anticipated salary range is $44,000.00-$55,000.00. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.

A combination of education and/or relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirements.

Two years of experience in coordination or administration of project operations (i.e. budget management, financial projections).

Ability to communicate well on multiple platforms - in person, by phone, and by email.

Ability to work well with a wide constituency of customers.

Self-motivated phenomenal teammate.

Outstanding attention to detail.

Understanding of fund accounting principles.

What We Would Like You To Have

Experience with PeopleSoft, Cognos, Concur, and other University systems.

Proven skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
