here's the scoop:

we are new to the gig, our family is fun and active but my son, the person i am hiring 3-5 staff for, is volatile due to the complications of pain, TBI plus the life experiences inclusive to being a man with nonverbal autism. we are surfing the waves constantly so anyone applying must be alert, even-keeled, and deeply kindbecause these traits will be tested by simply knowing our family, specifically my son. He is a beautiful soul who has been dealt circumstances many cannot grasp, so compassion and openness to learning are essential. If you are rigid or prefer order & predictability, apply elsewhere. We won't mind. If you have had previous training in ABA therapy for autism, you likely will not have any use for those skills with us, but if you have hiked, sailed, surfed or mountain biked, you may get to utilize these skills once my son's health is restored. When feeling good, he enjoys being outside and outsmarting his caregivers. We don't do TV or Videos, not even video games so again, if that's your gig, we may not be your gig. Musical instruments are sometimes tolerated and even enjoyed so if you play, there is potential for incorporating that into the day. Currently we are focusing upon health and safety in our new home and attempting to fulfill three to five part-time positions so apply if you match.
