Job Summary

The key job responsibility for all Information Technology employees is to provide excellent customer support to all agency technology users. This employee works with Retail management to meet their technology and information needs and maintains business information systems and reporting.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Retail management to understand their technology and information management needs
  • Manages retail information systems including the POS, Power BI reporting, and accessory devices
  • Administers, tests, and implements technologies to meet retail needs
  • Serves as liaison between retail and IT, coordinating activities to meet retail technology needs
  • Plans and implements security measures to safeguard information
  • Maximizes the use of retail information systems by being fully knowledgeable on its capabilities, and relaying those capabilities to the organization
  • Ensures the appropriate backups of retail information systems
  • Trains, monitors, and guides end users on the use of retail technologies
  • Designs, tests, maintains, and distributes well-documented reports using standard programming practices
  • Plans, communicates, tests and executes software implementations and upgrades
  • Follows IT change management procedures for network and database systems
  • Attends and participates in assigned management and planning meetings
  • Leads and/or participates in projects related to retail technologies and information systems
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, participating in professional societies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in system administration
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Criminal background check that meets Agency standards
  • Valid driver’s license permitting operation of a vehicle with a safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Point-of-sale systems
  • Experience with SQL database, Excel and reporting tools
  • Ability to discuss data and reporting in non-technical language
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
