Job Description

The Level 2 Maintenance Technician works independently, with engineering and other maintenance/plant personnel to perform preventative and routine maintenance tasks. The technician will troubleshoot equipment issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks are performed while supporting the safety policies, financial goals, and objectives of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Repairand maintainplant machinery and equipment such as mixers, coating equipment, slitters, compressed air systems, pumps and facilities equipment/infrastructure
  • Providegeneral preventative maintenance of HVAC systems equipment (non-coolant applications)
  • Provide general electrical repair/maintenance and installation electronic controls/equipment
  • Performelectrical shutdown/startup of low to medium voltage equipment
  • Performpreventative maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on all production and facilities equipment
  • Participatein plant safety and continuous improvement programs
  • Ensureall safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed
  • Purchasereplacement and repair parts to rebuild/repair equipment in a timely manner within budgetary constraints.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED. Post-secondary education in HVAC, electronics or industrial mechanics preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment working with hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics troubleshooting and repair. Experience in the converting or printing industries a plus.
  • Ability to utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the installation, repair, modification and maintenance of equipment
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts highly preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic shop math skills
  • The physical requirements include frequent standing/walking, twisting/turning, bending/squatting/kneeling, use of upper extremities to handle/manipulate/reach, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.; and occasional overhead work, climbing, and pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • Work includes exposure to machinery with moving parts, toxic or flammable substances, electrical hazards, noise, and electrical hazards.
