JOB DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Manager is a non-exempt position. The Assistant Manager will work in partnership with the Store Manager, model and drive a customer first selling culture. Provide leadership to achieve or exceed sales and profitability goals. Consistently exemplify, maintain, and foster the culture and values of World Market. Drive a service and selling culture through effective leadership routines and engagement behaviors.

Maintain a branded store experience through consistent visual execution, standards and recovery. Hire, develop and retain a high performance team through coaching, training and recognition. in the daily operations of the store. The Supervisor’s primary responsibilities include executing the daily priorities as established by the General Manager, leading the store staff in the absence of the General Manager or Lead Supervisor and being responsible for specific areas and departments within the store.

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work a flexible schedule including a majority of weekend shifts.

Comfortable leading and working in a team environment.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent supervisory skills including: A strong sense of urgency, excellent customer service skills, good attention to detail, creative problem solving skills, excellent delegation and follow up skills, ability to get the team to execute the priorities you lay out, and to be a good role model and to consistently exhibit the highest level of professionalism and integrity.

Minimum of 2+ years of supervisory experience in a retail or similar environment.

Prior experience in a fast-paced, customer service industry is preferred.
