The Funky Taco is currently looking to add to our culinary team. We are looking for another Lead Line Cook and looking to add another Prep Cook. We are looking for someone who is interested in pushing the culinary boundaries within a "farm to funky fare" framework. Our emphasis is on Asian, Indian, Mexican, and Americana ethnicities / styles of food. We have no boundaries, we have not put ourselves in the proverbial box, we are free to create. Our staff must be fun, colorful, energetic, and supportive of one another, and most of all, a little off-centered. We are looking for genuine, caring, and passionate people who want to grow with us personally and professionally.

Must have solid Chefin' skills with emphasis on quality, taste, creativity, and presentation

Must have skills and passion for ethnic food

Must be prepared to blow minds with their food

Must be socially and environmentally conscious with a local NW seasonal focus on food

Must have a really strong work ethic

Must have a personal and healthy relationship with food

Must be able to work super clean and be able to plate food clean and artistically

Must have a positive attitude and sense of "team". We are a culture of reliance, we rely on each other day in and day out and we support each other as family

All egos must be checked out the door.

Lastly, everyone in our kitchen will have the opportunity to create, present, and express themselves through food that will eventually make it to our guests tables. If you are tired of being stuck, get unstuck. No chefs with clipboards here. We cook, we create, we nurture and we connect with our guests together.

We established in April of 2013 at the Boise Farmers Market where we debuted our converted 1961 Airstream into a class IV mobile kitchen "The Funky Airstream One", took flight. We have taken our passion for community, unique and funky fare, art, and live music to a brick to mortar location in the heart of Downtown Boise on 8th street, Boise's "restaurant row". Our goal is simple, to leave you wanting more.
