POSITION SUMMARY: Working 35-40 hours per week, this professional nursing position is responsible for the training, monitoring, and quality control of workers performing non-medical care for seniors in their homes. The duties are performed in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards/regulations and as may be directed by the Director of Quality Assurance and Branch Administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Assists in the planning, organization and direction of Quality Assurance programs

Assists staff in the evaluation of programs necessary to improve programs and assure compliance

Assists in the coordination of the Quality Assurance program and prepare reports as required

Establishes and maintains tracking systems for identified problems/indicators

Develops and implements appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies as needed

Perform administrative requirements such as completing forms, writing reports, etc.

May make visits to clients homes, as needed or as assigned

Assists in developing annual auditing schedules as well as audit development when identified

Assists in the maintenance of tracking logs, incident and accidents, medication errors etc.

Assists in the investigation of incidents, injuries, events, abuse and misappropriation of resident property.

Maintains a high degree of confidentiality at all times due to access to sensitive information

Maintains regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department

Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements

Abides by all regulations, policies, procedures and standards

Performs other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:

Must possess a current and active license to practice as a LPN/RN in state working

3-5 years' previous experience in clinical health care including direct experience in quality assurance

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with all stakeholders

Must be knowledgeable of quality assessment and assurance procedures

Must possess leadership and supervisory ability
