A combination of teamwork, independence, and flexibility will be required in the early stages of the program where task responsibilities may be changing. Such tasks will include the following: requirements decomposition; trade studies; risk abatement; system architecture design; hardware integration planning; and supplier coordination. As the program matures and hardware becomes available, this position will be responsible for hardware and software integration and test.The selected candidate must be a motivated and energetic self-starter. The candidate will work cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines, as well as with program leadership, and external customers and suppliers.The ADP program environment includes complex, integrated system requirements, aggressive milestones, and dynamic task prioritization. The ability to address priorities within budget and schedule is required. The selected candidate must be willing to employ innovative approaches to maximize program performance.The selected candidate will be required to prepare and give briefings as required to customers, technical leads and/or Lockheed Martin management. The candidate must possess exceptional people skills and oral and written communication skills.Minimal travel may be required to Customer facilities and Lockheed Martin sites.Candidates should have some experience with aircraft electronics and wiring, and familiarity in aircraft electronics systems architecture and engineering, including aircraft computing systems and related interfaces. Experience in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) preferred.Desired Skills: Familiarity with FPGA programming. Experience across the systems engineering development lifecycle, including requirements decomposition, subsystem architecture and design, implementation, integration, test and verification. Experience performing trade studies and communicate results of technical evaluations. An understanding of Avionics interfaces and design as it crosses boundaries with vehicle subsystems and software. Experience working across contributing disciplines to produce design artifacts relating to avionics systems, including block and interface diagrams, system descriptions, technical evaluations, supplier documentation, and basic integration and test plans. Knowledge of AC and DC aircraft power systems Knowledge of computer and airplane interfaces, such as ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, discrete interfaces, RS-485/RS-422 serial bus interfaces, analog interfaces, etc.Understanding of electromechanical systems and their applications in airborne systems Knowledge of Ethernet and the OSI model; experience with Wireshark Working knowledge of environmental testing hardware, including methods used for electromagnetic interference testing, temperature and vibration testing. Familiarity with military air worthiness requirements for avionics and computers Ability to evaluate design packages, schematics, and other technical documentation for complex electromechanical systems to derive methods for control and status in an integrated system Experience selecting and integrating COTS components in a rugged airborne environment to meet requirements.
