ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN II 1

Job Summary:Works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices by performing a combination of the following: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing.Operates and maintains electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems.Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment.Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and effects repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition. Manipulates computer keyboards and views and interprets computer displays.Troubleshoots to the component level and makes needed repairs. Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested.Preferred Education/Work Experience:Education and/or training from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory or a military equivalent is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics and good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems along with test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment is necessary. Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power RF devices may be required.At least three years of hands-on experience is required.
