Staff Accountant

You might be a good fit for this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Those with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets are preferred.Key responsibilitiesMaintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Proven knowledge of bank reconciliations

Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)

Accounts Payable (AP) experience

Account reconciliation experience preferred

General ledger experience preferred

Experience with Microsoft Great Plains Accounting

Be detailed, flexible, and organized

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Skilled with ERP systems

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
