Veterinary Assistant (Port Jefferson, NY)

We are a veterinary hospital located in Port Jefferson, NY specializing in small animal care. Our hospital focuses on preventative care, treatment, surgery, dental procedures, x-rays, vaccines, boarding and grooming. Currently, we are seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant with at least two years experience who is invested, participatory and pro-active. Candidates should have advanced experience in technical duties: Drawing blood, independently performing lab work, assisting with x-rays, assistance with surgeries, triage patients, etc. Duties are inclusive of the following but not limited to: Assisting doctors with medical treatment, vaccines, surgery, dental procedures, medication management, etc.

Applicants should have strong communication skills, professionalism, excellent time management skills and work well under pressure. Additionally, individuals should exhibit a strong sense of empathy, compassion and patience.
