Summary: This position is responsible for supporting ongoing operations of one or more product lines. The chemist will conduct complex chemical studies, analyze data results and research applications in efforts to provide incremental product and process improvements. They will apply technical knowledge and techniques in projects and laboratory regarding research, production or operational processes and procedures and make recommendations on how to utilize materials. They will draft and help maintain laboratory procedures for use by R&D and Quality and may provide consultation, training, and trouble-shooting for problems as required.Core Responsibilities:

Routinely evaluates current products formulas for performance improvements, process efficiencies, and cost containment/reduction.

Re-formulates current products to meet changing regulatory requirements.

Leads investigations into and implements solutions to manufacturing challenges with scale-up, raw material substitutions, packaging, stability, or other quality issues that may arise.

Scales-up of successful experimental formulations and writes manufacturing and quality instructions and specifications

Provide subject-matter expertise to support and occasionally lead New Product Development projects

Develops, validates, and maintains analytical test methods and instrument calibration processes for use by R&D and QC.

Qualify, direct and support contract manufacturers of items within the supported product lines.

Core Skills / Experience Requirements: B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related field from an accredited college or university. 5+ years professional experience as a Chemist in a manufacturing environment. Significant familiarity with the supported product line chemistries and industrial blending operations. Knowledge of GHS and other regulatory requirements as applicable to the supported product line(s). Proficient within Windows based environment. Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook). Experience working with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Navision.
