Job Requisition ID #20WD42411Position OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Legal team supporting Autodesk’s People and Places team. You will be our third employment counsel, reporting into the lead Global Employment Counsel. You’ll support People and Places in the U.S. and then expand your work internationally.Your work will help Autodesk ensure a great employee experience and support our goal of being a Customer Company. Be a trusted legal advisor on a wide range of areas, including, hiring, employee relations, leaves and disability accommodation, compensation, benefits and terminations
Provide guidance on internal investigations and sometimes lead them
Respond to and manage pre-litigation claims, agency charges and litigation
Collaborate with cross-functional partners and teams on policies, guidelines, processes and training which support legal compliance
Identify legal requirements and risks and help determine how to sensibly respond to them
Minimum Qualifications
J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Member in good standing in any a state bar, preferably California
Work experience as in-house employment counsel
A minimum of ten years of employment law experience including that as in-house counsel with law firm training and experience
The ability to effectively triage competing demands, often with short deadlines
The ability to work under pressure in an intense, fast-paced environment
The ability to function independently driving assignments to completion
A willingness to work outside of regular business hours where needed, particularly for international support
Preferred Qualifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional judgment and creativity, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice appropriately weighing legal and business objectives
A comfort level working in an unstructured environment in the “greys,”
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with, and gain the respect of, stakeholders at all levels and varying functions of the Company
A collaborative and cross-functional mindset, that is culturally sensitive and inclusive
An approachable, easygoing and flexible manner with a great sense of humor
Experience with international employment law
