Housing Maintenance Technician

General Summary: This position maintains SKC Student Housing property and buildings to ensure a safe and clean environment for students and visitors. Complete move-in, move-out and random inspection of Dorms and Housing units. Coordinate and supervise outside contractor to clean and sanitize Dorms and Housing units after tenants have moved out, and/or perform the task with in-house employees. Supervise outside contractor to repair and paint Dorms and Housing units after tenants have moved out, and/or perform the task with in-house employees. On a scheduled basis, have annual maintenance completed on Family Housing and Dorms. Perform various maintenance requests on Dorm and Family Housing as directed by work orders, which may include repairs of plumbing, minor repair of sheet rock and or painting, repair and sealing of floors, replacement of doors and windows, and cleaning. Work in coordination with SKC maintenance to maintain Housing units in good repair. Move furniture into units and perform other related duties as directed by immediate supervisor. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Valid Montana Drivers License. One year experience in building repairs and house painting. One year experience in general house cleaning. Able to communicate written and verbally. Good organizational skills. Ability to use computer systems. Provide self-direction for identifying and completing tasks. Work hours must be flexible to allow for working weekdays, weekends, days, evenings and holidays as needed due to emergency situations. Position physically demanding, individual must be able to lift heavy objects and work in all types of weather.
