less thanstrong>Location:less than/strong>iVariousless thanbr>less thanbr>less thanbr>less thanstrong>Job Summary: less than/strong>less thanbr>The Itinerant Physical Therapist (PT) performs screenings and evaluations of gross motor and mobility skills for children (3-21), provides related services to support the educational programs of students who qualify for special education services to enable them to meet their IEP goals and objectives.less thanbr>less thanbr>The PT is expected to recommend services, environmental adaptations and/or modifications as well as the staff training needed to manage students' physical needs and support their educational programs. Consultation and collaboration with assigned district educational personnel is an essential component of the physical therapist's responsibilities. Extensive travel to school sites throughout Alaska is required, often to remote communities by small plane.less thanbr>less thanbr>less thanstrong>Job Duties: less than/strong>less thanbr>iEvaluate and assess student's needs, performance, and abilities with accuracy.less thanbr>iPrepare comprehensive reports including: summary and interpretation of evaluation results; recommendation for eligibility for physical therapy services according to Alaska Special Education Handbook; recommended activities for student progress; and suggested IEP goals and objectives, where appropriate.less thanbr>iDevelop therapeutic programs, provide support, and train district staff to assist students in achieving their IEP goals and objectives.less thanbr>iProvide recommendations, interventions, and technical assistance to district staff based on interpretations of assessment findings.less thanbr>iSupport district staff with knowledge of Federal and State laws, regulations, and policies related to the special education program.less thanbr>iSeek out and participate in professional growth opportunities.less thanbr>iCoordinate with districts to make arrangements for site visits, including making travel arrangements and housing accommodations as needed.less thanbr>iSubmit required paperwork (Travel Authorizations, Travel Expense Reports, Report of Services, Student Reports, Time Sheets, etc.) within the expected timeline.less thanbr>iCommunicate regularly with Special Education Program Administrator and Special Education Administrative Assistant.less thanbr>iRepresent the organization professionally in local communities.less thanbr>iAssist in the promotion of and recruitment for company programs.less thanbr>iTravel is required to perform job duties.less thanbr>less thanbr>less thanbr>SERRC is an EOE.
