Extensive travel to school sites throughout Alaska is required, often to remote communities by small plane.less thanbr>iReports to: Special Education Program Administratorless thanbr>iJob Term: Full or Part-timeless thanbr>less thanbr>Position Duties:iless thanbr>iless thanul>less thanli>Evaluate and assess student's needs, performance, and abilities with accuracy.less than/li>less thanli>Prepare comprehensive reports including: summary and interpretation of evaluation results; recommendation for eligibility for occupational therapy services according to Alaska Special Education Handbook; recommended activities for student progress; and suggested IEP goals and objectives, where appropriate.less than/li>less thanli>Develop therapeutic programs, provide support, and train district staff to assist students in achieving their IEP goals and objectives.less than/li>less thanli>Provide recommendations, interventions, and technical assistance to district staff based on interpretations of assessment findings.less than/li>less thanli>Support district staff with knowledge of Federal and State laws, regulations, and policies related to the special education program.less than/li>less thanli>Seek out and participate in professional growth opportunities.less than/li>less thanli>Coordinate with districts to make arrangements for site visits, including making travel arrangements and housing accommodations as needed.less than/li>less thanli>Submit required paperwork (Travel Authorizations, Travel Expense Reports, Report of Services, Studentiless than/li>less thanli>Reports, Time Sheets, etc.) within the expected timeline.less than/li>less thanli>Communicate regularly with Special Education Program Administrator and Special Education Administrative Assistant.less than/li>less thanli>Represent SERRC professionally in local communities.less than/li>less thanli>Assist in the promotion of and recruitment for SERRC programs.less than/li>less thanli>Travel is required to perform job duties.less than/li>less than/ul>less thanbr>less thanbr>less thanbr>SERRC is an EOE.
