Experienced Carpenter For High End Work Sought

Area contractor specializing in high end residential new home construction and remodeling is seeking an energetic, motivated and skilled carpenter to fill an open position on our team. We are located in Johnson City, TN and perform work in Johnson City and the immediate surrounding area. We are a low volume, custom building company specializing in high end homes and remodeling. Much of our work is specialized building projects where we work closely with our customers to build exactly what they want.

This is a full-time position and applicant must be neat in appearance, well spoken, and able to communicate easily with our clients. In addition, applicant must be able to work 40 hours a week, have a valid driver’s license and good driving record, dependable transportation, pass a background check and a drug test.

Applicant will typically work as part of a team of two to six people, but must be able to work alone when necessary, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Our projects are some of the most unique residential projects in the area and "quality first" attitude is a must.

Job responsibilities would include almost all aspects of residential construction, and applicant must have knowledge of all the different trades involved. Duties would include, framing, trim carpentry, exterior trim carpentry, wood flooring installation, cabinet installation, door and window installation, demo work, and other skills related to the construction and completion of residential building projects. Applicant must understand basic construction methods and be able to measure, lay out, and cut materials, as well as solve problems, and be able to complete tasks without constant supervision.

In order to be considered for this position applicant must:

Submit a resume detailing their skills, level of experience, work history, and references

Have a minimum 5 years’ experience in residential construction

Possess own tools including a circular saw and miter saw

Be able to climb ladders, and scaffolding

Be able to lift up to 80 pounds

Have a strong work ethic

This is a full-time position paying $15-$20 per hour based on experience and skill. There is room for advancement and higher pay for the right employee
