This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number D1209000 part of the KS Maneuver And Training Equipment Site, National Guard.ResponsibilitiesAs a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER, WL-2604-11, you will serve as a working leader of three or more Electronics Mechanics, WG-2604-11. Performs duties such as field and limited sustainment maintenance and repair of a variety of electronics equipment and complete operational systems. Provides technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower-grade employees. Perform other duties as assigned.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsMilitary Grades: E5 through E8 or WO1 through CW3 Compatible Military Assignments: Immaterial GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, electrical blue prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and to assign work and monitor progress. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of and skill in the repair of electronics equipment sufficient to organize and direct the work of others. Experience which demonstrates an applicant's ability to provide guidance to others in troubleshooting malfunctions. Experience which demonstrates an applicant's ability to instruct others in the use of precision measuring and test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical publications and providing guidance to others. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent lifting and carrying of unassisted items weighing up to 40 pounds. Required to lift and carry items weighing more than 40 pounds with the help of material handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. Work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping. Climbing and working in high places may be required. Some work may require the aid of magnifying lenses, eye loops, and microscopes to accomplish repairs on miniature components. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is typically performed in well-lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. Work may be in high and restricted places, under conditions of heat and cold, and/or outside in inclement weather.
