We engage at the outset of the weapon system development and follow our designs through deployment. Our team helps develop the requirements and bring concepts to life. Our products are deployed all over the world, on the ground, and they reach the exoatmospheric environments and into space.The Configurable Digital Logic (CDL) Department is responsible for the architecture, design, and documentation of deliverable firmware and FPGA embedded processing at RMD.Job Description:TheElectrical Engineer will develop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including: Xilinx, Altera ,Lattice, and Microsemi . Designs are implemented using VHDL for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical (EO) DSP, controls, data links, embedded processing and processor interfaces. Designers work with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements, architect new parts, collaborative modeling of algorithms, partition and perform code development, simulation, andplace and route.Designs are verified against requirements using both directed test and constrained random methodologies. Design support is expected from requirements definition through integration and test.Design documentation and configuration management are required.U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. DoD Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.Required Skills and Experience:U.S. Citizenship is requiredA minimum of ten (10) years of experience with digital design and VHDL codingExpertise in Xilinx or Microsemi devices and flow toolsExpertise in delivering FPGA solutions to system level applicationsHands on experience with integration and debugDesired Qualifications:MS or Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer EngineeringFPGA design expertise in one or more of the following areas:-Expertise in radar processing techniques-Expertise in image processing techniques for visual and infrared sensors-Expertise in embedded systems design using ARM, Microblaze, or Nios processors-Expertise in gigabit serial interfaces and multi-gigabit transceivers (MGTs)-Expertise in constrained random verification in UVM using System Verilog-Expertise in verification utilizing emulation platforms, such as VeloceRequired Education:Bachelor of Science in Computer or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.Master of Science in Computer or Electrical Engineering preferred.This position requires the successful issuance, transfer or maintenance of any clearances and/or accesses necessary for the position.Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.Additional detail regarding security clearance factors can be obtained by accessing the DISCO website at:https://www.state.gov/security-clearances166056Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
