DescriptionAccountemps requires a Payroll Administrator to process payroll with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The Payroll Administrator provides a long-term temporary role from its Saint Louis, Missouri location.Your responsibilities
Handle reconciliation of employee deductions and other relevant liabilities
Exercise of proper data management by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data
Report changes where necessary after maintaining payroll operations via company policies and procedures
Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
Perform other tasks as necessary
Execute relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to circulate amongst department heads
Answer questions and requests related to payroll information
Review source documents with necessary verification
Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities
Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines
Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies
Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation
Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll
Requirements
Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
Understanding of internal controls
Expertise in Microsoft Excel
Well-founded grasp of payroll for over 500 employees
Practical knowledge of Payroll Tax Deposits
Garnishments payroll experience highly desired
Hands-on experience with IRS W-4 Forms
Earlier work involving Payroll Taxes
Experience with IRS W-2 Forms
Wide ranging experience with Payroll Tax Returns
Solid understanding of Excel VBA
Comprehension of IRS Tax
Good understanding of payroll taxes
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Deep understanding of Multi-state Payroll
General familiarity with Payroll Tax
Skills in IRS
Command of Local Payroll Tax
Proven knowledge of multi-state payroll
Previous experience working with Year-end Payroll
Payroll experience
Prior experience with Excel Formulas
Quality experience with Payroll Tax Reporting
Full Cycle Payroll experience
Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll
Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional
Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Prior experience using accounting software
