Job Description

Candidates for Experienced Lead Investigator roles must have a minimum 4 years of investigative experience conducting face-to-face interviews with 2 years of experience performing investigative work with focus on personnel security and adjudicative guidelines as well as 2 years of experience performing investigative work in a law enforcement capacity (i.e, police detective, parole or probation officer) at the local, state, or federal level. And, 2 years’ experience successful performance in a management role. The candidate must have a Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. The contract will support the client’s security processing of personnel via both investigative and polygraph services. Must be available to work primarily on client site in Reston, VA. May require work in various locations to include (but not restricted to): DC Metro, State of Maryland, and Commonwealth of Virginia.

Experienced investigator responsibilities include:

· Lead a team of contract employees performing security interviews

· Maintain efficient and effective cooperation with colleagues, visitors, and Agency officials, as well as public and private sector stakeholders

· Monitor and as necessary take preventive and corrective measures necessary to maintain productivity and quality of work of Background Investigators

· Ensure timely delivery of Background Investigator work products

· Participate in project planning and coordination with COR or other Government personnel

· Ensure the highest standard of professionalism and integrity

Additionally, the Experienced Lead Investigator will:

· Conduct interviews in private and in person or via Government Video Teleconference or telephonically, as approved by client to validate and supplement information provided on the Subject’s SF86 form as well as supplemental Government information to clarify and collect information relevant to the Subject’s background, loyalty to the United States, foreign influence, foreign preference, character, reliability, judgment, trustworthiness, and to expand on derogatory information related to the Subject

· Strive to establish rapport and maintain trust in order to achieve a high level of cooperation from all Subjects interviewed

· Review all relevant information related to a Subject’s suitability to classified national intelligence information

· Maintain the highest levels of professionalism

· Work independently and conduct research using a variety of Intent based resources and Government databases

· Produce written reports containing details, examples, justifications, commentary from Subject and investigative leads

· Make decisions and take action within the established Security Investigations Division practices and procedures

· Possess strong work ethic, impeccable integrity, and a passion to support national security initiatives and represent our federal customer with the highest level of professionalism.

· Meet government and industry standards for quality, integrity, timeliness and productivity

· Ability to work in a MS Windows based operating environment, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and E-mail.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Minimum 4 years of investigative experience conducting face-to-face interviews with 2 years of experience performing investigative work with focus on personnel security and adjudicative guidelines as well as 2 years of experience performing investigative work in a law enforcement capacity (i.e, police detective, parole or probation officer) at the local, state, or federal level.

· Minimum 2 years’ experience successful performance in a management role.

· U.S. Citizenship

· Currently possess a Top-Secret Clearance with SCIeligible

· Maintain highest level of confidentiality, ethics and integrity.

· Possess a professional demeanor and attitude, with an ability to adopt and adapt to change.

· Have strong writing and communication skills, including the ability to establish rapport quickly and communicate well with individuals from various backgrounds.

· Have excellent problem solving, time management, organization, scheduling and prioritization skills.

· Possess strong work ethic, impeccable integrity, and a passion to support national security initiatives and represent our federal customer with the highest level of professionalism.
